If New York residents are undercounted in the decennial census, the state won’t get its fair share of federal funding for a variety of programs including Medicare, the Head Start Program and will also be short-changed when it comes to federal highway spending. But experts are expecting an undercount in the state this year. This is also the first year the U.S. Census will be conducted online.
