(upbeat music) - You're invited to a night of dancing, dinner, drinks, and snuggles from a rescue pet at the Nuzzles Gala, an event that raises money to rescue dogs, cats, and even farm animals.

Beth Lopez is here with me in the studio with Jake, one of those rescue pets as well, and she has more of what's in store at this year's gala.

Welcome.

- Thank you.

- Jake is very excited to be here, right?

- He can hardly express how excited he is about our gala, so he's really doing a lot of dancing around.

- And your gala helps fund the entire organization, right?

- Yes.

It's our most important fundraiser of the year.

We rescue animals from euthanasia shelters who need quite a bit of help, right?

They need medical attention, food, TLC, training, and that's what this gala helps to fund.

- Yeah, and Jake is just a few years, weeks old actually, and so that's why he's a little bit excitable- - He's a little excited.

- his first time in the studio.

Tell me about what people can expect at this year's gala.

- So it's beautiful.

It's at a really nice hotel in Park City.

There will be drinks and excellent food and a puppy snuggle lounge, and maybe Jake will be there.

And really fun storytelling.

You'll get to hear some of our most heartwarming stories of the year of saving animals who needed our help.

So it's a great celebration of love and just a fun party.

- Yeah.

And I hear you guys have all kinds of different programs like the Purple Paw program and the Working Cats program.

Can you talk a little bit about those?

- Absolutely.

So we like to do more than just directly saving animals from euthanasia.

Obviously that's very important.

But we help people, who are fleeing domestic violence, to get back on their feet by sheltering their pets as long as they need.

That's our Purple Paw program.

We have a community pop-up pet food pantry for people in financial hardship and a community clinic providing low-cost veterinary services.

So it's all very important work, and this party helps make it possible.

- Wow.

And do you guys have, like, auctions and things like that at the party as well?

- We do.

I should have mentioned we have a great silent auction and an even better live auction, which you can only bid if you're there.

And so, you know, it's really exciting, fun stuff, and all, every single dollar goes to little guys like Jake.

- Well, thank you so much for being here with Jake.

I'm sure he's excited to get back outside- - So excited.

- and go outside and play.
