A look at Lincoln Center Theater’s “The Oldest Boy,” a new play by Sarah Ruhl.

Directed by Rebecca Taichman, “The Oldest Boy” is about differing cultures, competing ideas of faith and love, and a family’s decision to either send their son (a recognized reincarnated Buddhist teacher) to a monastery in India or to keep him home. “The Oldest Boy” runs through December 28th at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater.
