So I started to practice.
I started to do these rudiments and I realized it's this dance that's always happening between all of your limbs, has nothing to do with your fingers.
And as I'm doing it, I'm sitting there counting.
I'm like 1, 2, 3, 4, and one, and you're trying to get things going.
And when I went back to the lyrics, I was just like, oh there you go.
Subdivisions, 1, 2, 3, 4.
And how it's the drummer that kind of makes the band you know, not to say bands without drummers can't rock.
But I would say that the drummer in any band makes or breaks the band.

It's the most incredible experience.
I tried to capture the sound of the stars like in the harmonics at the beginning the opening theme is actually stars just starting.
And then as the piece progresses it picks up tempo in the middle section is quite fast.
And that's like at the full height of the of the meteor shower, it ends up slowing back down.
And then you hear the theme, come back with the harmonics.
And then towards the end of the song I do the thing where I'm doing the harmonics and then I'm doing trills against it at the same time.
So the idea with that is like the bright heads of the meteors and then the remaining streaks of the sky behind it.
So the trills are the streaks and the harmonics are the actual bright stars.

Sometimes it happens all the time.
Sometimes it doesn't happen for years.
So "December" was actually a song that I wrote in 10 minutes.
And I originally intended on writing a hip hop song, just for fun.
And it did not come out that way.
You just never know how it's going to happen or when it's going to happen.
At least for me.

The opening line, "a ghost dispute and a soul set free."
I saw ghosts when I was a kid in my bedroom and he was glowing green and ghost dispute and a soul set free, found his place in the color green on to a bedroom, a movie scene where there's just two of us in between.
You could interpret that as a love song though but it's, it was totally like spooky ghost.
