The race in Washington's third congressional district presents a stark choice for voters.
Joe Kent is a former special forces combat veteran running as a Republican.
An outspoken America first candidate endorsed by Trump.
Kent's aspirations include defunding the FBI and Department of Education, imposing tariffs in an attempt to bring back manufacturing jobs, and using the death penalty on drug dealers.
Democratic nominee Marie Gluesenkamp Perez is the daughter of a Mexican immigrant and touts herself as a pragmatist small business owner.
She lives in Skamania County with her husband, with whom she owns an auto shop.
Gluesenkamp Perez caucused for Bernie Sanders.
Like Kent, she also wants to boost American manufacturing.
Protecting abortion has become another priority for her in the race against Kent, who is anti-abortion.
