Undocumented immigrants can now apply for Washington's third round of COVID-19 relief funding.
The application for Washington's Immigrant Relief Fund has already seen more than 50,000 submissions.
Each approved applicant can expect to receive at least $1,000.
The roughly 275,000 undocumented immigrants in Washington were not eligible for the unemployment benefits and stimulus payments that many US citizens leaned on during the pandemic, so last year the state legislature approved $340 million to help undocumented immigrants navigate the hardships brought on by COVID.
The country's undocumented immigrant population was hit hard during the pandemic for several reasons, including their roles as essential workers in industries like health and agriculture.
