The Irish immigrants who brought their candy-making skills to St. Louis and started up the Switzer Licorice company. Long before we started making the first Corvettes, St. Louis was filled with automakers in big factories and small startups. Plans are moving forward for turning the old Hodiamont streetcar right-of-way into a greenway.
