(upbeat music) - Ogden Contemporary Arts is presenting a new exhibition called Transference.
It represents the skill, innovation, and vibrancy shared within the arts, education programs, and community, and here to tell us more is Kasey Lindley.
Hi, Kasey.
Thanks for being here.
So tell us more about what transference is.
- So Transference is an exhibition that we have coming up from February 2nd to the 18th.
It has 10 of our artists that teach for us in our arts programming, and we also are going to be showing student artworks in this space as well, so it's basically a celebration of our Artist Factory youth education program.
- Okay, okay, and so who are some of the faculty members who will be showing.
- Some of the artists, they're all local artists, very active in the community.
So we have Jorge Rojas, we have Samantha De Silva, Douglas Tolman, Inez Garcia, Emily Hawkins, to name a few.
- All right, so I'm familiar with some of them, so that will all be on display as well as some of their students.
So it'll be really interesting to see how they have transferred the art skills to the students.
- Yeah.
- Yeah, all right.
And I know you open and you have a big opening for the public during your Friday night art drill, but they're pretty fun.
- Yeah, so on the first Friday art stroll, it's a big celebration.
We're on the Nine Rails Creative District.
It's all along 25th Street in Ogden, so there's a lot of celebrations in the community.
There's live music.
They're at the Monarch Building, where we're located.
There are also artist studios that they open up, so they have open studios, and another fun thing that's happening this first Friday during the opening reception is we have our artist in residence, Luis Alvaro Nuno, who is going to open up his studio as well, and so folks can also come in and not only speak to the teachers, but him about what he'll be working on.
- Oh, okay, that's gonna be a lot of fun.
Yeah.
Well, thank you so much for coming on and telling us about things.
- Thank you so much.
- And if you'd like to know more about that upcoming exhibit of the Ogden Contemporary Arts' Transference, the big opening night will be February 2nd from 6:00 to 9:00 PM, though the exhibit goes through the 18th.
