What this study is trying to do is see how cannabis affects driving in older adults.

Because older adults often have other conditions or medications many studies are designed to exclude them, and cannabis use has been really skyrocketing in older adults.

We were interested in seeing whether, those other conditions and medications and cognitive changes might in fact change the way cannabis affects driving.

This study is what we call an observational study.

That means people bring in their own cannabis that they've purchased themselves, and they use it the way they would normally use it, and then we do testing of their driving and also thinking and reaction and things like that.

for each participant, we're comparing how they drive with cannabis and how they drive without cannabis to each person is their own control.

Many, many people drive into their 80s and 90s even, in order to help older drivers continue to drive safely and maintain their independence, it's important to do this kind of study.
