Join me for bluesy vocals and psychedelic rock, coming up on Inland Sessions.
"Alright, alright" When Vika, Aiden and I started working together a little over a year ago, this is one of the first songs where Aiden and I realized that we kind of had a superstar on our hands.
So, this song is always gonna hold a special place in my heart for that moment in time.
This one's called October Reminiscing.
MUSIC You make me cry Even in summertime Something's not right Babe I'm weak and I'm in pain I had to go away Once a sorrow Babe I'm weak and I'm in pain I had to go away Once a sorrow lies a young girl cries But I dream all night babe for you or lies a young girl cries But I dream all night babe for you or I'll go pray For a better day I go bleed all your sad away On a I'll go pray For a better day I go bleed all your sad away On a Saturday.
Finally feeling, feeling Saturday.
Finally feeling, feeling better like I should I talk to my lover It feels so good I was born in Veliky Novgorod, Russia.
I was adopted when I was young.
I'm Russian and Egyptian, Turkish, some weird mixes in there but, yeah.
My brother, Caleb Grabowski, he is an insane jazz musician and he was the one who kind of got me into indie rock when I was about 13.
And that's when I was like, wow, I want to make music.
Walk in the darkness and you see me Step forward and smell the summer breeze Singing on rooftops there's distant laughter But there's something else I'm after I wanna go so far ride fast in my new blue car I'm gonna love it someday Until then I'll be on my way I wait for you to say I'll see you on a sunny day You'll move and I'll escape So I feel less like I'm fading away I wanna live by the sea No one relying on me I'm gonna be there someday Until then I'll be on my way All of my sorrows will just fade on by Cause I've got my eyes on the prize I'm nostalgic but I am true There's nothing else I wanna do Something happened I don't feel right I wanna go back to the dream I had last night I loved it my love's still true I met my lovely boy in blue I was there where I was supposed to be But I'm awake and there's no one here but me "Curse of the Passion Fruit" I wrote about a year ago, which is actually the name of my album.
It was meant to bring meaning into my life.
I was always chasing a feeling, running away from something, never feeling truly satisfied with where it was at in my life to the point where it made me feel like I was cursed.
But I was starry eyed still, and I used it as inspiration.
And that's how that song came together.
Jump on in But I'm emotionless I've got this hard boot and I Jump on in But I'm emotionless I've got this hard boot and I call it the curse of the passionfruit My baby's mean She's mean like grenadine Yeah she creeps right inside thru the holes of my eye and rolls the dice on my thigh Where I go I don't know But my infatuation flows I'll try to be there but I'll usually just stare at the people from far outside I need a new feeling I need a new hoot But this god damn old curse has just got me oh shoot!
Someone come as save me someone call me baby And I'll feel alright.
for a night.
Why, Why, why I need a new feeling Why, Why, why I need a new feeling I need a new hoot But this god damn old curse has just got me oh shoot!
Someone come as save me someone call me baby And I'll feel alright.
for a night.
Wh-h-y.
for a night.
Wh-h-y.
What's going on later tonight I see ya posting about a party But I checked my phone I never got no invite What's going on Ur so cool yeah I sit at home and drink by the pool but You you'll go have ur fun I wait around For hours talking power getting sour Ur the tower fallin down on me and Ur light I'll be nowhere in sight I got no invite.
I got no invite.
Hey it's ok I never liked u anyway I've been there before I've walked thru that door I've seen u face down on the floor It's alright I'll stay in tonight I'm living it up at home Playing hay day on my phone I'm no one to you Ur no one to me too I'll drink the potion And I'll see the ocean What a view for two But it's fine, no invite.
I'm doin' alright.
I'm doin' alright.
Alright, alright.
Alright, alright.
I'm doin' alright.
One day I randomly decided to pick up my older brother, Gabe Grabowski, he had an old Yamaha guitar in the corner of his bedroom.
And I, I picked it up and it was like the easiest thing for me.
Like everything just came to me.
It felt like the best thing ever.
And I started playing guitar and like writing stupid little songs and that's when everything kind of started and I just kept working at it.
And then my mom really, really loved my voice.
So she put me in Rock Club, which is a group where younger musicians come together and play together.
And I did that for about four years, and that's actually where I met Johnny and Aiden at Battle of the Bands, 2019.
My old band Violet Eyes, we won.
And that's where the spark for playing with these guys happened.
I dream of how you tasted That night in Baton Rouge when we kissed That flavor of your flesh And your lips on mine On that night in Baton Rouge when you told me I was cute I wait by the river for you And you tell me you're sorry cause you found someone new But lately I'm craving the flavor of you The flavor of you The flavor of you While you tease another I'm flavor of you The flavor of you While you tease another I'm swallowed undercover Wasting time, I'm just feeding my mind But I just can't decide if I'll Say goodbye to the flavor of you The flavor of you, the flavor of you The flavor of you You're a boring mister, the flavor of you The flavor of you You're a boring mister, I'm the twister from the south I bite your tongue you breathe in through you're cotton mouth I don't need you anymore it's the lyrics I adore, you're a muse that's what you're for but Friday I feel blue Cause the flavor of you, lingers around The flavor of you, it's bringing me down The flavor of you, the flavor of you, the flavor of you.
the flavor of you, the flavor of you.
We've got One antidote And a Long ways to go While we're still young babe And I need to know Well it's like ur always pissed I say stop looking at me cause I don't exist I'm nowhere here That antidote well we've only got one You drink it now I don't need it Let it cure you then maybe you'll love me But right now You've got a heart made of brick.
MUSIC MUSIC We've got one antidote From that old lady who wrote It Well I'm sorry Mrs. Jonson I'm sorry I need to know It's raining outside today And I've got a lot of things on my plate but he, he's doing alright Cause he drank the only antidote yeah he's doing fine afloat while I I'm drowning tonight Cause he drank the only antidote Even tho I told him so.
Cause he drank the only antidote Even tho I told him so.
I saw a shimmering locket Underneath the lake That night when sully boy told me U better not be out too late But I dived right in to find that locket I swam until I got it My mind was calm my hands grew strong I fell into a trance Locket, break my heart Show me where to start Locket, break my heart Show me where to start Locket, make this last Forgive my foolish past Next thing I know I make this last Forgive my foolish past Next thing I know I was in a bikini Askin old Geni if she could see me The locket I held was glowing yellow It showed me the life of Doñatello Saw him looking super suspicious Needed a bite of something delicious His skin like honey his hair like gold I tasted the rain again Locket, wake me up and show me what is love Locket, rain again Locket, wake me up and show me what is love Locket, take me away Fill the skies with rain The song Nasty Woman is my take me away Fill the skies with rain The song Nasty Woman is my favorite song that I've ever written.
It means the world to me.
And I worked so hard on that song.
I wrote that kind of about how someday I want to be something bigger than what I was and how I'm still going to be myself, but a better version of myself.
In the best musical way possible.
That song is very near and dear to my heart.
That song is very near and dear to my heart.
Do u hear them calling me My lover My melancholy You'll see Do u hear them calling me My lover My melancholy You'll see me I'll still be me Down where sound is beaming That's where I me I'll still be me Down where sound is beaming That's where I wanna be Strumming by the sea Who knows where I'll go All I wanna be Strumming by the sea Who knows where I'll go All I know I see lights and I'll drown When the lead goes on I fall to know I see lights and I'll drown When the lead goes on I fall to the ground I hear the drums and I'll move Down where the music the ground I hear the drums and I'll move Down where the music is good Come and hurt me baby I need to feel something again A is good Come and hurt me baby I need to feel something again A warm delicious vinyl It hits you within When it calls to make a friend Ah... friend Ah...
