(fire crackling) - There's an annual inspection in Europe that you have to get your chimney swept to make sure that it is clean.

It's running efficiently.

Here, you don't have to have that.

One of the major things that we are doing is trying to get public awareness on how important chimney maintenance is, because there are so many house fires that could have been prevented with proper chimney maintenance.

If everybody had their inspection once a year, we could reduce home fires by over 75%.

(gentle bright music) - Olympia Chimney started out in a garage actually.

They eventually moved into manufacturing, so we started out making corrugated liners.

After that, we started to manufacture the parts that go with those liners, and we gradually grew into other venting lines.

- We manufacture everything for your chimney and hearth needs, whether it be relining, stovepipe, a firebox.

- A lot of times people just think of a chimney as one simple thing in their house, but there's a lot of different aspects that go into your venting in your home, and by making it ourselves, we're able to make some of the best products in the industry.

- One of the awesome things about us here at Olympia is we can actually weld copper, spot weld copper.

Our lasers, those are pretty awesome.

- These are fiber lasers, so this one can actually cut heavier material a lot faster.

So what this can do is it can actually load a sheet, send it into the laser, and once it's done cutting it, it'll actually unload it and load the next sheet on and keep the process going.

- We would be the only large scale manufacturer in Northeast PA of chimney and venting product.

Our products are used generally in the United States, but they also do reach into Canada and sometimes even into Europe.

- Our motto is, we're your partner in the business, and everything that we do revolves around that, and it was really something I wanted to be a part of.

(gentle music) - Well, the term we like to use is, if you can dream it, we can build it.

- It used to be that it was just a one-size-fits-all, and everybody had the same looking cap.

Now we are able to do any design, whether it's a slope design, powder coated, so that it looks like an extension of the design of the house, like it was meant to be there.

- Getting a request from a customer for something totally unique.

They might have a picture or an idea in their head and send it to us and say, "Hey, can you build this for us?"

And we never turned on a challenge.

We'll find a way to make it.

(indistinct chatter) (gentle bright music) (gentle bright music continues) (gentle bright music continues) - We're so foundationally rooted within Northeast Pennsylvania.

- It is still an area that people generally respect manufacturing and look to manufacturing as a career.

So we have opportunity here to pull in really good employees.

- [Dawn] They're brothers and sisters and husbands and wives, and it is a big family that works here.

- Olympia truly does care about its people.

- We are still a small company mindset, but we're a larger company now.

- In 2019, it acquired Copperfield Chimney Supply.

Copperfield Chimney Supply was known as the biggest distributor within the chimney, venting and hearth industry.

Combining those two entities together allowed to have the product innovation that Olympia Chimney inventing supported and the efficiencies from a distribution aspect of Copperfield Chimney Supply.

- They were our goal, they were our competitor that we wanted to be like.

And to be able to grow to the point where we were able to purchase Copperfield, that's a huge change for us.

- From the ability to have our distribution arm right next to our manufacturing arm allows us to ship faster.

- So obviously you can hear that we are up and active in our new building.

- There's just no cap to where we can go with this.
