The weekend is just around the corner, and there's a lot to see and do, in and around the city.
Let's get to it.
Get ready for a jazzy night at the Blue Llama Jazz Club in Ann Arbor.
Soak in the sounds of the Jesse Kramer Trio as they round out your Friday night.
Jesse Kramer is one of the most in-demand drummers in metro Detroit, and he's performed and recorded with countless local and national artists.
No cover or reservations required for this one.
May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.
And we're here to celebrate on Saturday at 6:00 PM, head over to the Ann Arbor District Library for Kizuna Tree.
It's an interactive installation and performance collaboration between the AAPI Performance Collaborative Island, Detroit Public TV, and Rising Voices.
Featuring movement, visuals, readings, and sound recordings from one Detroit's AAPI Stories, Kizuna Tree explores communal healing across generations, communities, and ethnicities.
On Sunday, let's keep the music going with Seal, the Grammy-winning global icon is on a 30th anniversary North American tour, and of course, Detroit is on the list.
Seal, with special guest, The Buggles, is in town for just one night, Sunday, May 21st at 8:00 PM at the Fox Theater.
Looking ahead, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra is out and about in the community.
On Wednesday, May 24th, make your way to the most beautiful St. Hedwig Catholic Church, where the Detroit Symphony Orchestra will present a dynamic family-friendly performance led by conductor Enrico Lopez-Yañez.
The program will feature works from Latin American composers.
This DSO Detroit Neighborhood Initiative concert is free and open to the public.
Also on the 24th at 6:00 PM, head to the Grosse Point War Memorial for an evening of red, white, and blue.
The celebration will feature cocktails, live music, dinner, fireworks, and the formal dedication of the Fred M. Alger Center.
Wearing your most chic red, white, and blue attire is encouraged.
Sounds like an exciting weekend.
I'm Peter Whorf with 90.9 WRCJ.
There's always so much to do around the city.
Here's more of what's happening ahead.
We hope to see you around.
Have a great weekend.
