Nestled near historic downtown Sanford is the state's oldest continuously used school building, officially known now as the Public History Center. A place that gives visitors a chance to see what it was like to live over 100 years ago. The Public History Center is housed in what was Sanford's very first high school and is listed on the National Register of Historical Places.
