A filmmaker's journey of rediscovery as he retraces his mother's steps.
New Jersey filmmaker Steve Besserman’s parents are both Holocaust survivors. Several years before she was stricken with dementia, his mother, Aranka, began to write memories of growing up in Hungary; being in ghettos and concentration camps; and how she met and fell in love with her husband. Besserman weaves his mother’s diaries together with his own journey to the places of which she wrote.
