For the third year in a row, a mysterious substance is being blamed for a major environmental incident on the Salt Fork River. A fish kill involving only bottom feeders, large catfish, buffalo and carp has left hundreds of rotting carcasses along the banks of the Salt Fork from just west of the river bridge on Highway 156 south of Ponca City to the confluence with the Arkansas river.
