Oklahoma Mental Health and Substance Abuse Commissioner Terri White outlined veterans suicide statistics Tuesday for a house panel. White told lawmakers veterans made up 23% of Oklahoma's suicide deaths in 2011. White pointed to successful suicide prevention efforts by the U.S. Air Force, and said the department would ask for additional money next year to fund similar efforts in Oklahoma.
