December 7th, 1941.
Was suddenly and deliberately attacked.
Japanese Americans shared in the horror of millions of Americans as the Empire of Japan bombed Pearl Harbor.
I was a child.
I had no idea what was happening in the world.
We're going somewhere tomorrow, Lilly.
It will be like a vacation.
We were living cocooned, protected by our being young until the day we had to pack up and leave.
From Bainbridge Island, we were the first group to be taken away.
This would be the last time I would see my home for three years.
