Exploring the Ruins of St. Thomas Ghost Town, Drowned by Lake Mead

Clip: Season 1 Episode 113 | 6m 12sVideo has Closed Captions

Explore the ghost town of St. Thomas, uncovered by Lake Mead’s receding waters after decades.

Once submerged beneath Lake Mead, the ghost town of St. Thomas has reemerged as a haunting reminder of a community lost to progress. Outdoor Nevada host John Burke explores the ruins of this 1865 pioneer town — abandoned in the 1930s to make way for the Hoover Dam. As drought continues to lower lake levels, the foundations of homes, schools, and even an ice cream parlor are now visible once more.
