Ethnicity in the Ozarks: The Czech Community of Karlin
Special | 27m 3s
Albert and Mary Skalicky share unique Czech culture and memories of Karlin, Missouri.
Our Ozarks heritage and traditions are rich because of the diversity of settlers to this area. Many explorers from throughout Europe arrived, bringing their unique trades, languages, foods and forms of entertainment. Many of these nationalities established their own communities throughout the Ozarks. Among these early explorers were Bohemian Czechs, some of whom settled the community of Karlin.
