Ethnicity in the Ozarks: The French Community of Old Mines
Special | 28m 20s
The community of Old Mines, Missouri continue to be steeped in French heritage.
Early settlement in Missouri and the Ozarks by Anglo-Americans and Germans after the Louisiana Purchase is well documented in our history books. But other cultures provided equally significant contributions to our Ozarks heritage. One of these is a population in the northeast Ozarks, today called the Missouri-French.
