(soft music) It was my pastor's 29th year anniversary.
(soft music) My father was the pastor and this is the first year.
He's not with us.
(soft music) Normally we would just celebrate him for a whole week with him being gone this year.
Of course we couldn't do it.
So what we did was we just had like a Memorial.
(instrumental music) (congregation shouting and clapping) - Everybody come here to say something about the lost soul - God gave us the opportunity to speak to our pastor.
(soft music) So everybody that wanted to say something get up and I was able to talk to him.
(soft music) - Well, I just want to say thank you for being a father to me.
- My dad would be really proud of me and my husband.
And where are we at in life today and What we accomplished - Man, I saw that as possible to raise kids, take care of your family and just be there despite everything.
- He was always the man that pushed you to do better.
You know, he always pushed you to go back to school work for yourself, don't work for nobody else.
- You showed me that you can do a lot with a little bit.
You know what I mean.
- [Patricia] So it say here that my husband is an independent and owning and his own business.
I think my dad would just be ecstatic.
- All right, thanks.

(soft music) (woman sobbing) - [ Patricia] And my church, we have paid people went before.
We have helped people with; Coats, shoes.
( soft music) Now all they have to do is ask and we give it.
( soft music) - All I say is I appreciate you for teaching us.
I appreciate you for being hard on us, but telling us the truth even when we didn't want to hear it.
I appreciate you for loving us when we was unlovable.
I appreciate you for giving to us even when we didn't want to give to you.
I appreciate you for giving your time, your effort your money for sacrificing.
I appreciate your prayers, I appreciate your time, your preaching, your midnight hours.
I appreciate you.
We love you.
We love you.

[Patricia]It's not the goal.
You know, the goal is to purchase our own home.
But you know, it's, it's ours, some place, you know where we need to be.

(soft music) - [Patricia] It's nothing too hard (soft music) is nothing that you can't do.
There's nothing that you can't be.
I don't care what you went through.
What trials tribulations, as long as you know God give you the ability and the breath in your body.
You have another chance to get up and get it right.
( soft music) Even if you feel like the world is against you and you've done nothing wrong the only thing you can do is learn from it and grow from it.
