I've asked them to share with us how they're making a difference.
-Hi, I'm Emma.
I'm a senior at Osborn High School.
I recently completed my Girl Scout Gold Award, which was entitled "Fostering Literacy in Children."
My project addressed the declining levels of literacy among elementary schoolers in Virginia.
This was done through providing over 220 online read aloud books for students and parents, which is available online in both English and in Spanish.
I was able to present my final product to over 65 families at a few of the local elementary schools and libraries.
I had a lot of fun working on this project, and I'm super thankful to have been able to help people in my community improve their reading skills.
-Like these students, you too can help improve the lives of so many people by volunteering in your town and community.
