2015 Festival | Good Soil
6/14/2015 | 8m 13s
The Meier brothers' nursery faces the edge of the Garzweiler II coal pit.
In 1983, the German energy giant RWE started digging for coal in the Garzweiler II pit. Since then 16 villages around the mine have had to be resettled. Brothers Helmut and Joachim Meier continue to run the nursery they built 30 years ago in the village of Borschemich, the next to be buldozed away. Presented by POV.
