In Lesson 4 part 2, students observe how gravity affects people and objects around the world, comparing the force of gravity in the Southern Hemisphere to that in the Northern Hemisphere. Students determine that the force of gravity pulls objects, including gas particles, toward Earth’s center (PS1.B). This allows them to answer the Phenomenon Question: What separates Earth from outer space?
