Joshua Graham is here with more information about the new authentic Spark Box that's now available to register.
Hey, Josh, thanks for being here.
So tell us just briefly how "Book Club in a Box" works and then I wanna talk about this book and this film.
- Absolutely, well thank you for having me.
A "Book Club in a Box" is a box that includes a book.
In this case it's "The Courage to be Disliked", also A DVD, "Bright Spark", questions to help spur a conversation amongst individuals who wanna start a book club.
- Okay, it's great and I love this title, "The Courage to Be Disliked".
Okay, tell us about that book.
- Really briefly, "The Courage to Be Disliked" is framed as a conversation between a psychologist, a philosopher, and a youth.
And so, it's really easy to read because of the format of the book.
It's conversational, and in essence, it hopes to summarize the philosophy of a psychologist named Alfred Adler.
- Okay.
Okay, great.
And then the film, I mean this is locally, local artists who made the film and it's about one of my favorite local artists.
- Oh, me too.
The local director and producers, Matt Black and Nathan Florence, have put together this fabulous movie "Bright Spark" about the work and life of local artist Trevor Southey.
And so, this "Book Club in a Box" pairs the film and this great text together, because a lot of the themes do intersect; ideas of community and how these artists built community within their own group, and also how to develop community amongst our friends, which is spoke to in "The Courage to Be Disliked".
- All right.
All right, well great.
Well, thank you for helping out with that box.
- Of course.
- And thank you for being here, thanks.
- Yeah, my pleasure, thank you.
