Host Lonzo Liggins and Danor Gerald are here to talk about the second season.
Hi, both, welcome.
Nice to have you here.
- Hey, hey, hey.
- Wonderful to be here.
- So Danor, why don't you start?
What's coming up in the second season?
- Well, we're excited for our second season, it's airing during Black History Month, and we actually have an episode about Ogden Black History, which is an amazing thing full of discovery, so I'm excited for people to learn and see that show.
- Yeah, and you're gonna learn some new stuff on that Ogden Black History as well.
We're having an episode on indigenous food activism, which I'm really excited about.
It's about getting people back to eating, in particular indigenous people back to eating, the original foods that they had prior to colonization.
And there's a lot of health problems on some of the reservations, with heart disease and diabetes, and they're trying to get people back to those foods that help eradicate those health problems.
And we also have an episode on STEM, which is science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, how Black and Hispanic students are not as highly represented as other people when it comes to those fields.
- Yeah, we wanna move that needle and- - We wanna move the needle.
- Yeah, and then there's Black social media.
- Social media.
Whoo!
- Black social media, - There we go.
- which is an exciting, interesting episode.
We've got some great guests, we got Kenny Akers we got someone- - Black Menaces.
- Black Menaces here.
- Yes, buddy.
- You know, Black tweeters, Black Twitter's a real thing.
- It's on fire, so we're excited for people to see that show.
We're excited for people to see all the shows, but, you know, we're gonna have a lot of fun, and it's gonna be one of those seasons where we're doing stuff that's a little bit different, but also the same.
- Great, and it's Thursdays at 7:30?
- Yes, in February.
- Yes.
- During February.
So, and there's a launch party coming up.
- Yes, hey.
- Yes, that's right.
- Launch party.
- February 6th, up at the Ogden Contemporary Arts Museum, we're gonna have a launch party.
There's gonna be some good food, some entertainment, it'll be a lot of fun.
- Les' Barbecue, James' Pies.
James's gonna be bringing in some pies.
Danor's gonna be singing.
- No, I'm not.
- Yay!
- He always sings well, I know.
Don't let him fool you.
- All right.
Well, it's so great to have you two here.
Thank you for being on PBS Utah.
- Thank you.
