Clip: Season 8 Episode 4 | 5m 26sVideo has Closed Captions

The Pen Project, a magazine by and for prison inmates, features original art and writing.

Keri and Chad White first visited a prison as part of a Christian rock band. When inmates started sharing their own lyrics, and then other writings and art, the band came up with the idea to collect and print them to share more widely. Now the Pen Project magazine is distributed to 55 institutions in twelve states, sharing inspirational and uplifting works between incarcerated artists and authors.
