Every bird has a completely different personality.
I'm Hannah.
We're here at the Lake Superior Zoo, and we're going to meet some of our parents back here in the back of our Australia Building.
We have eight macaws and one cockatoo.
You're being a ham.
Yeah.
We we have so many animals here that have come from bad situations.
So with their husbandry and stuff, making sure that they they're well cared for here we focus a lot on nutrition and making sure that they are fulfilling all their nutrition needs.
Lots of fruits, lots of whole grain, lots of fiber.
Some of them love to play and tussle with each other, and some of them are, more like sheltered and broody.
And like to crawl up in a nest and stuff.
Large parrots can live between 40 to 60 years in human care, sometimes even longer.
Right now, only two of our parrots have the ability to have outside access, and that is due to their current space limitations.
So we are working really hard to fundraise to build an aviary.
If if you are also one of us who wants to get these birds out and let them be seen now that they are comfortable.
You can go to our website and follow the New Beginnings campaign to help support the fundraiser, to be able to build the facilities and build the new home for all these kiddos.
