Your tolls and PATH fares are going up starting in January.
Port Authority commissioners today voted in favor of a new $9.4 billion budget that's paid for in part with higher fares on path trains.
Those are now cost $0.25 more, making each ride three bucks effective January 12th, marking the first fare increase in a decade.
Drivers, though, will also pay more at the Port Authority, run bridges and tunnels.
Most drivers using easy pass now pay just over $15 at the crossings.
That will go up $0.25 next month, followed by a quarter increase annually for the next three years.
That's on top of automatic inflation based toll hikes the board approved back in 2019, along with an increase for anyone who uses the toll by mail program.
The hikes come on the heels of New York City's congestion pricing plan for motorists entering Manhattan south of 60th Street.
That'll run you $9 if you go by car on top of all the other tolls.
Governor Murphy and other state leaders have criticized the congestion pricing toll as a way to make money from the pockets of New Jersey residents.
