Representative Patrick Flannery's House Bill 176 seeks to raise juror pay from $5 a day to a whopping $25 a day.
Though the bill unanimously passed the House Judiciary Committee this morning, several lawmakers suggested raising the rate to $100 a day.
Representative Flannery, a Republican, noted his bill doesn't restrict local courts from providing jurors with additional compensation.
House Bill 176 now heads to the full House for consideration by the full membership.
