I am currently a senior at Concordia College in Moorhead.
studying music and business entrepreneurship which is just a fancy way of saying music business.
I've always had music in my life, I've always had something to do with singing, piano, guitar.
My mom told me a story a long time ago that I was a baby, and anytime Josh Groban was on I'd just sing along with him every single time.
I started vocal lessons and piano lessons when I was in 2nd grade, and I just started running with it, and my first song I think I wrote totally finished when I was in 4th grade, so it's been a long time.
The kind of music that I write is under the singer-songwriter genre.
I don't usually stick to a genre when I write.
Whatever comes to me I write.
If I-- feeling like I want jazz chords, I write a jazz song, If I want pop chords, I'll write a pop song.
But whatever comes to me comes and I just go along with the ride and the journey of writing.
Usually I try to write about something that I'm feeling or something that I've gone through.
There are a couple songs that are just stories that I've made up that I write.
I just like to connect with people through music.
That's the main goal-- is connecting with people and letting them know their complicated and tough feelings-- They're not alone in those.
It's a way to connect with people.
To me it's a universal language of letting people know there's someone there, someone that can connect with them and be with them through the hard times.

I had been listening to a lot of Joni Mitchell, she's one of my biggest inspirations along with Carol King and Billy Joel now, I was listening to a lot of Billy Joel, so I wanted to create something as big and as emotional as some of his songs can be.
I had a really good friend of mine-- they are phenomenal musicians, they were going on tour they were moving everywhere you could possibly imagine.
I was so happy for them, but I was so sad to not have them in my life anymore.
And I sat down and created something bigger than the feeling of I'm here for you, but I'm not ignoring the pain of you not being here.
