We're based out of Pick City, North Dakota.
We play Ameri-Conscious Campfire Folk music.
I've always been kind of a storyteller through my songs.
I was inspired by John Prine, Neal Young, Bob Dylan-- stuff like that.
And so the story always drew me.
We would always be up late going around to campfires, tellin' stories, singin' songs.
And we felt good about what each other were doing.
Sky on the upright bass, and then Danny can do about everything, especially guitar and washboard.
We knew right away that there was something really cool here that we had.
So we're going 8 years as a band.
Just very excited to see what else the music has for us.

Sky with the MoonCats here.
Something unique about the MoonCats that I don't see in very many other bands is though we do follow the old-time music tradition of bluegrass influence and stuff like that, I feel like our sound is very authentically ours.
We're not trying to keep our sound in a certain box.
I like the uniqueness and variety that we have in the MoonCats.
Certainly with our instrumentation as we switch our instruments around a lot, but also with who is leading the song.
Where Slinger leads probably the majority of our songs, and Danny leads quite a few, but in a live set, I'll lead some as well.
All three of us are taking turns contributing songs and leading songs for the band.

We've all worked many other jobs, so I think this is becoming the best job for all of us, and I think the best way we can use our skills for the community and for the world.
