Here with information about Windows into Time: The Annual Gala, is Director Brandy Strand.
Hi, Brandy.
- Thank you.
Thank you so much.
- Thanks for being here.
So tell me about the gala.
What will be going on at that?
- Absolutely.
So it's Saturday, November 2nd, and it's our annual celebration of all things preservation.
And this year, we're at the Clubhouse, which is the historic Ladies Literary Club.
And we're really focusing on the people behind the buildings and the spaces that make Utah unique and vibrant.
And we're really excited to be able to really focus on the communities behind the spaces that we value so much.
- That's great, and there are so many that we do, aren't there?
- Absolutely.
- Yeah, so tell me a little, let's talk about what work you do with the preservation society.
- Absolutely.
At Preservation Utah, we work to preserve our historic built environment and spaces.
So you can think of it as our older buildings, but also the communities that come around those spaces.
So we work collaboratively with individuals and with property owners to help them preserve their buildings, but also the stories and the spaces that make those places unique.
- Yeah, because it's the stories I love about all these places.
- Oh, it's the humans behind the buildings that make them what they are today.
We can't forget our humanity.
- Yeah, yeah.
And I know, you're one of the only nonprofits statewide that does what you do.
- Yes, we are the only statewide nonprofit that works to preserve and protect our historic built environment.
We do work a lot with individual communities who have grassroots groups that work in their local communities.
So we work to support them in ways that matter to them and add meaning to the work that they're doing.
But we definitely do look at the full state and we provide resources and tools and support to everyone.
- Wonderful, well, thank you for what you do and thanks for being here.
- Thank you so much.
- And if you'd like to know more about that upcoming Preservation Utah Windows into Time Annual Gala, it's November 2nd, from six to nine, at The Clubhouse, the old Ladies Literary Club.
