The Wabash Avenue YMCA received a $437,000 grant to preserve the cultural landmark.

The Wabash Avenue YMCA received a $437,000 grant from the National Park Service. The funds will help restore what was once a safe haven for people of color who came to Chicago during the Great Migration.
