And that includes here in the Commonwealth, where he held a rally Saturday at Truist Arena on the campus of Northern Kentucky University.
Our Laura Rogers was at the rally and is standing by in our Lexington studio with the report.
Yes.
Thank you Christy.
More than 2500 people turned out for Saturday's rally in Highland Heights, as President Trump spoke in support of his priorities in Washington, along with support for GOP congressional candidates, including Congressman Andy Barr, who's running for U.S.
Senate and editor in the fourth Congressional District, both of them also taking the stage.
Well, a very special Allo to Kentucky.
President Trump drawing a crowd of more than 2500 energetic supporters to northern Kentucky.
This is the most important midterm in the history of our country.
Many voters agree.
Cost the war gas prices.
Iran.
Iran is to blame for higher gas prices.
But thanks to the United States Navy, all exports out of the Strait of Hormuz have been restored to 80% of pre-war levels.
Voters telling us the war has been worth it to mitigate the risk.
I'd rather pay a little more for my gas and pay a little more for things than to have a nuclear bomb dropped on the country.
The president projecting confidence in his economic policies.
They gave us the dark age of American.
We quickly turned it, and I had no idea we could do it this quickly.
We turned it into the golden age of America.
We're in the golden age of America.
It was just announced that under Republican leadership, incomes for hardworking Americans have soared to the highest level ever recorded.
Thank you.
President Trump, crediting his tariff policies for a big investment in Kentucky from Ford.
$2 billion in its largest plant there, building the largest plant in the entire country.
The Louisville assembly plant is creating more than 4000 Kentucky jobs.
He also promised more economic development if Republicans maintain control of Congress in the midterms.
Will be investing $100 million in the pharmaceutical company and Thayer to revitalize a gigantic drug manufacturing facility in Winchester, Kentucky.
The president stumping for Republican candidates, including Congressman Andy Bohr, who's running for U.S.
Senate.
It has been an honor of a lifetime to fight alongside President Donald Trump to make America great again.
And the GOP candidate and the fourth congressional district editor, who won his May primary with the president's endorsement.
Mr.
president.
I want to thank you for.
What you've done to.
Unleash the.
U.S.
economy, to unleash energy, to restore law and order, and to restore national defense and national security.
One notable absence, Doctor Ralph Alvarado running for Congress in the sixth Congressional district.
The president voicing his support.
Ralph Alvarado, is spectacular.
He's in a tight race with a lunatic.
Alvarado is running against Democrat in the sixth district.
His team told the Kentucky Lantern that he had prior commitments on Saturday, including meeting with voters at Court Days and Mount Sterling.
More on that race coming up shortly.
For Kentucky edition, I'm Laura Rogers.
The Democratic nominee for the U.S.
Senate.
Charles Charles Booker put out the statement about President Trump's visit to Northern Kentucky.
Quote, while Andy Barr spent the day touring favor with Trump, spreading lies in sowing division, I continued traveling throughout the state.
Hearing firsthand about Kentuckians struggles.
Andy Bar is sitting by.
While his constituents cannot afford gas, groceries, and other basic necessities.
That's real lunacy, unquote.
Kentucky's only Democratic congressman called out Trump, too.
He spoke to reporters in Louisville one day before Trump's rally.
When asked about Kentucky's sixth district race, he said Democrat Zak will beat Republican Ralph Alvarado, who notably did not attend Trump's rally.
McGarvey says Alvarado and other Republicans cannot run away from Trump's policies and record low approval ratings.
I was driving back over to Frankfurt last week, and of course, the cheapest gas between Louisville and Frankfort everybody knows is in Wadi.
It was 417 a gallon for gasoline.
It was $6.50 for diesel.
Right now, Kentuckians are paying, on average, more than $4,000 per family.
More because of this president's policies, $4,000 per family.
They're watching this happen.
Yes.
You know, it doesn't matter what politicians are saying.
It's what people are seeing.
They are seeing the gas prices.
They are seeing the grocery prices.
They are seeing health care prices.
They're watching the corruption in this administration.
Everything from the president reporting, making over $2 billion, dealing crypto out of the basement of the white House, or accepting a luxury jetliner from the Qatari government.
It doesn't matter what he says at his rallies, because people are now growing accustomed to the fact that he is lying about it.
You know, so in the face of the president's rising costs, everything from gasoline to groceries, I actually passed a bill through the United States House of Representatives that lowers the cost of prescription drugs for every single senior in America.
I'm working on cleaning up the Ohio River.
I'm working on taking care of our veterans while fighting the corruption of this administration and working to lower everybody's costs.
That's what I've always done.
That's what I'm going to continue to do.
Like all U.S.
House members, Morgan McGarvey is up reelection.
He is running against Republican Maria Rodriguez.
She's an emergency room nurse and an immigrant.
She was born and raised in Cuba and became a naturalized U.S.
citizen in 2017.
The Cook Political Report cast McGarvey as a solid win for Democrats.
He beat his 2024 opponent by 24 percentage points.
House representatives have now been out of session for more than a month.
They won't return until after the midterms.
McGarvey has criticized speaker Mike Johnson for refusing to consider legislation, including budget measures.
For so many weeks, Johnson says, he cleared the houses schedule so members could focus on their campaigns.
