Tastes like heaven, I believe that food is the ultimate connector.

My tamale pie is a hot dish.

We come from all different kinds of backgrounds, and we should be able to honor that.

When I became a chef, I said, I want to impact people through food.

Oh, yeah.

Yummy.

Food is memory and food is nostalgia.

I don't want those traditions to be lost It was about learning what made something authentic, learning how to make something taste a certain way.

I wanted to know how to do it.

I felt that I had to learn how to do it.

Some people might think, "Oh, it's just food", but that's not true at all.

Food is healing on so many levels.

When we know who is growing our ingredients, it holds us accountable to use everything to the best of our abilities.

That creates belonging and that creates community.

This is where the future of food should be.

It's challenging though.

I think everything that I ever wanted to do, I can do using the power of food.
