Today we're exploring the woods, but we're not alone.
We've got Christine, co-founder of Northwest Navigation.
Christine, you are famous for your excursions.
Can you tell me about one of yours?
Some of my favorite excursions are just getting into the woods and maybe walking along a trail, or maybe even a game trail, and then coming to a spot, maybe a clearing someplace mossy and just having everybody sit down and be quiet for like 10 or 15 minutes and just listen to the woods, listen to the trees, listen to the birds start to sing and just have that moment of quiet.
And I often have a timer going because I know it's like ten minutes and we'll get to ten minutes and I might push it to 15 minutes, I might push it to 20 minutes, and then I might say, are you guys done?
And they'll be like, no, do we have to?
So that's my favorite thing, is to just be in the woods and to be quiet.
I love that.
Where's your favorite place .. Oh, my favorite place is a place called Wood Spit in the Tracy Arm-Fords Terror Wilderness in Alaska.
And it's this ancient, ancient forest and it's built on a place where a glacier used to sit.
And now there's a forest there, and we go in there, and it's sometimes dripping with rain, but it's quiet, and it smells so fresh and gorgeous.
And I think that's my favorite place to go.
Hi, I'm Angela, proudly not lost in the woods.
Thanks for exploring.
I'll see you.
