So let's go back over to the quizmaster for round two.

Okay, so the only one you miss was the decade of the setting of catcher in the Rye, which is 1920s, the 1920s.
All right.
We've got, two bonuses left.
Let's see if we can get it with this next one.
It happens to be math computation.
Josh is playing a card game, and one card has its best effect when he rolls a six on a standard D6.
When he plays the card, he can pay extra to roll the dice more than one time.
What is a number?
Pardon me, what is the minimum number of dice rolls that he needs to have?

Bates answer Daisy Bates.
Yes, you better get that one.
All right, so you got all four of those, right?
And we have one bonus remaining, and I bet we can get to it here in the next couple of questions.
All right.
Math computation.
What is the determinant of the two by two matrix with first row three negative five.
And second row four four.
set Earth 32 right.
All right.
And you have earned the fourth bonus, which is scientific and inventions and Innovations timeline.
Given a list of inventions and innovations, put them in chronological order from the first to be introduced to the last to be introduced.
Okay.
so if you have them in the right place, but, maybe you missed some others, you still get points for the ones you put in the right place.
Okay, I'm going to read the four things off to you.
First, items with barcodes arrive in stores.
The laser is created.
The space shuttle launched and landed.
Polio vaccine is introduced.
I think it's first laser than polio or polio.
Okay, polio.
And then I think it's a barcode.
Then split.
Okay, so laser laser show.
Yes.
Answer.
Laser polio barcodes.
Space shuttle I got it.
They got two.
Right.
Okay.
Good.
you got polio and laser backwards.
So, polio first in 1957 and then the laser introduced in 1960.
But great job on that.
You got 20 points out of the deal.
All right.
and we are through with, round two.
Do we have any challenges?
You do have a challenge.
Okay, we do have a challenge.
So we're going to go to Christina.
Okay.
Thank you Steve.
And we're going to bring in our our expert Bill Davis, to talk a little bit about, what do you think this challenge might be?
It's got to be on one of the bonuses, but I'm not sure what it is.
I didn't catch anything.
So, you know, we'll we'll see.
What is little Rock?
Christian did the the challenge and they've got a substantial lead.
Yeah.
They're doing a I did note one when they were asked the question about the gentleman from little Rock that helped integrate little Rock central.
That was kind of a give me, give me of their, their school.
Yeah.
They knew that all of the strategy that goes with when and and if they decide to, to actually ask for a challenge.
yes.
And two, you don't want later because some of these teams will wind up in national competition.
They want to make sure that what they answered was correct or what they didn't answer was correct.
So, you know, you want to keep that knowledge straight.
That's it.
All right.
Well, we are going to go ahead and go to break.
But stick around.
There's much more to come.
The state's best baseball and softball teams are back in Conway this summer as a Centennial Bank.
State baseball and softball championships are live on.
Arkansas PBS sports.
So that one is lifted to last, and it is going since this into center field.
It's a walk off for the Warriors first state championship, for a complete schedule and all the ways to watch it, go to my R PBS.org slash sports.
This month in passport on the PBS app of Golf Course.
I'll see you there in a second.
I live forever green O Whitaker AP for decades, the BGS created music that defined a generation.
These and other shows from Arkansas PBS are available with passport on the PBS app.
And welcome back.
We just got word that the challenge was actually accepted.
Can you kind of explain what happened?
Yeah, they said they challenged the time of the catcher in the Rye, and it was in 1950s.
I would not have known that I taught math, I didn't teach literature.
So I missed it.
I won't do anything about it.
The the moderator had 1920s, and I really thought that's what it was, but I guess not.
We all learned something today.
Okay, let's head back over to the quizmaster.
Well welcome back.
We did have that challenge, and, it was a good challenge.
they discovered that, the decade for catcher in the Rye was the 1950s, not the 1920s.
So there you go.
So we'll add five more points on to the little Rock central score.
All right.
I'm going to announce now to you the categories Rogers.
You'll get to go first.
And then little Rock central.
Okay.
Here are the three categories you can choose from.
S.I.
derived units.
Given an essay unit that is derived from an algebraic base unit, provide with the essay unit measures.
The second one is Central and South American and Caribbean capitals.
When given the name of a city, identify the nation of which it is the capital, and the third one is First Ladies of the United States.
Given a First ladies, first name and middle, pardon me and maiden name provide her husband's name.
Who is president?
All right, you have one minute to decide.
And while the teams are deciding on which category they're going to choose, we're just gonna talk a little bit more.
You've mentioned several times we've had some rookie teams here today, teams that have never been here.
And, is that an advantage, a disadvantage?
How does that play into these matches?
It's usually a disadvantage because this is a different environment.
But what we've seen this morning is two of our rookie teams, and Rogers Heritage is one of them right now.
But two of them, one and they unseated or defeated a state championship team from last year.
So I don't know if you could say it was a disadvantage or not.
The one team that I noticed from the get go that was really impressive to me was Truman.
And this was their first time here.
But from the very first question, you could see that they had been coached to concentrate, listen, and their knowledge was very wide and very deep.
They were a very good team, especially as a rookie came to be here.
They didn't have any adjustment period.
I think it's just more surprising when they did.
Yeah, Atkins kind of had an adjustment to go through and they got behind and I really felt like Mountain View was going to win it.
And then Atkins just kept coming and kept coming.
They chip off 5 or 10 points.
So, you know you just can't tell.
it just really depends on the determination of those team members and staying in the game.
Absolutely.
But it has been so exciting.
Closer 62nd round can cause a lot of points to be stacked up, even though it's the least number of points in the game.
So even with a big lead, there's still time for things to happen.
Oh yes.
Yes, there's 300 and plus points out there.
Yes, yes.
Okay.
Even though I will say little Rock central was impressive.
Absolutely.
It has been a fun day of watching these matches.
So we're now going to send it back to the quizmaster because the teams have chosen their categories.
All right Christina.
Thank you.
They have chosen their categories and made some substitutions.
At least over here they have.
okay.
So, just heritage, you know, I'll be different on you.
Okay.
All answers.
All right.
Good.
they chose Central and South American and Caribbean capitals.
And then with the other two choices, little Rock central chose first ladies of the United States.
All right.
So pretty exciting.
And, we're going to start with Rogers and above.
And are you be ready with any bounce bags that they may give you.
Hopefully there won't be any right.
All right.
yeah.
And you're going to be speaking for Rogers.
All right.
You chose the category Central and South American Caribbean capitals.
You'll actually be given the name of that city.
And then you tell the nation of which it's the capital.
And I apologize when I'm.
It's pronounced C's.
All right.
Oh, we get the minute ready.
Okay.
Here we go.
Belmopan.

and now you have the chance to do, that will little Rock central.
I will be deferring all my answers to Sid.
So there's two.
Siddharth, go.
Okay.
Speak clearly when you're going to speak to me.
Okay, here we go.
It says when given a first name.

Okay, then we're going to go to Christina while we make substitutions.
All right.
Thank you.

These matches have been very entertaining, very intense, and very fun to watch.
So stick around.

So let's go to this final round.
And for that, we'll head over to the quizmaster.
Well, that's exactly right.
There is still the 200 points up in the air for this final round.
So good luck to both schools.
All right, hands on a buzzer.
