When WWII broke out, St. Louis Rabbi Isserman volunteered to serve with the Red Cross.

In 1933, St. Louis Rabbi Ferdinand Isserman sounded some of the earliest warnings about the rise of Adolf Hitler. When World War II broke out, Isserman volunteered to serve American troops in North Africa with the Red Cross.
