Jersey City and Hoboken have passed ordinances to ask the voters their preference

If Trenton approves, Jersey City and Hoboken can initiate voter referenda to begin ranked choice voting as soon as next year. One week after a federal appeals court heard arguments to end New Jersey’s county line, lawmakers are trying to introduce further changes to how New Jerseyans vote.
