Born and raised in San Diego, Brisa’s background is representative of San Diego’s border town diversity having a Black Father and a Latina Mother. Separately from her career in the Social Justice field, she is the lead singer of San Diego’s award-winning band The Lyrical Groove where they have used music as a platform for healing and truth-telling.
