(bright upbeat music) - Follow the clues, discover hidden pixie dust, and explore magical landscapes at Red Butte Garden's Garden After Dark: Adventures in Neverland.
Jason Alba is here to talk about how this year's family-friendly Halloween event blends storytelling, nature, and autumn fun.
Welcome, Jason.
- Thanks for having me.
- Thanks for being here.
I'm so excited about this year's theme.
What went into kind of putting this together?
- Yeah, so it's a big year-long effort for me and my team to create this entire event, and it's just one of our favorite things to do.
I mean, everybody in Utah really loves Halloween, so it's just a great time to get out and celebrate the season up there in the Garden.
- Oh, yeah, I see people decorating their cars.
Like people go all out when it comes to Halloween.
- Yes, definitely.
- Which I think is important to let people know that this event is not just for kids, that it's for adults too, right?
- Yes, it's for people of all ages.
So it is very family friendly.
So we like to always say that we're a little bit spooky, but we're never scary.
But there's things for people all ages to enjoy.
So from little kids all the way up to seniors, you can come on out and have a great time at the Garden.
- [Liz] Yeah, and they're showing on the screen last year's event, which was kind of wonderland themed a bit, but there's also an educational aspect to it as well, right?
- [Jason] Yes, definitely.
So if you head on up there, you're gonna learn about some of the really cool tropical plants that we have in our collection this year to kind of fit with that Neverland theme.
So, you'll learn some cool plant facts as you walk around as well.
- And you also offer kind of earlier walkthroughs for people who need it not as rambunctious.
- Yes, definitely.
So, on the Saturdays and Sundays of our event, from five to six, we have what we call our Hocus Crocus Hour, and that's just a bit easier experience for folks that maybe might need some, you know, a little bit mobility considerations.
It's not quite as loud.
There's not as many flashing lights and things like that.
So, it's just a little bit easier to stroll through our garden after dark.
- I love that you take that into consideration for all people so that they can celebrate and enjoy the Halloween spirit as well, right?
- Yeah, exactly.
We like everybody to be able to celebrate at their own pace.
- Yeah, well, thank you so much for stopping by and sharing this information.
