(bright music) - Salt Lake Film Society presents "Redford Remembered," a month-long retrospective featuring 12 iconic films.

And Tori Baker joins us to share how the celebration honors Robert Redford's legendary career.

Hi Tori.

- Hi, Mary.

- I'm so glad you're doing this.

- So are we.

- Because what a major loss.

- Yeah, it really was.

And honestly, I don't think any of us in the film world of Utah would really be here without Redford.

He sort of created the ecosystem of all our organizations.

So it's really great to take some time to remember him.

We have 12 titles, his acting titles, mind you.

We hope to do his directing features in February next year.

But right now we're doing 12 exclusive, very Utah-based, I would say if you look at his top films, most people would probably not pick all of these.

We picked them because they are very Utah-based films.

But 12 films, three titles a week.

So please come to the Broadway to see one of them on the big screen.

- I'm so glad you're doing this because just at home, I thought I need to start just watching a bunch of his films.

- [Tori] Yeah.

- I mean, it's a huge loss for us.

- It's a big loss in the film and particularly in the independent film world.

So we'd love to celebrate his work, his impact as an actor.

And if you're a Red Carpet Club member, we'll also be having some discussions about him throughout the month.

- Great, great.

What are some of the Utah-based films?

- Well, "Jeremiah Johnson" will be playing toward the end of the series, and we'll kick off the series with "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid," which if you haven't seen, please come see it on the big screen.

A lot of people have seen it on the small screen, but don't disservice, you'll love it on the big screen.

We're also doing some of his classics, "The Way We Were."

We're doing some of his stuff when he was older.

So "All Is Lost" is in the series, where he was I think 78 when he filmed that.

- Okay, yeah.

I just wanna see him, and he'll be with us forever, thanks to film.

- Yes, absolutely.

- We love it.
