Naumkeag

Season 3 Episode 2 | 27m 55sVideo has Closed Captions

Susan visits Naumkeag estate in Stockbridge, MA

Naumkeag, a quintessential country estate, reflects the shingled style homes of America's Gilded Age and is famous for its terraced gardens & outdoor rooms. The Blue Steps of Naumkeag were created in 1939 and are a series of deep blue fountain pools flanked by 4 flights of steps climbing up a gentle hillside overhung by birch trees. Truly an amazing sight & quite a subject to paint!
