We're here at Grand Portage, Minnesota, the great carrying place.
My name is Eugene Tesdahl.
And not only am I a historical interpreter and a volunteer here at Grand Portage National Monument, but I am an associate professor of history at the University of Wisconsin, Platteville.
For people who have been to the north shore of Minnesota but maybe not been here, it's a really special place.
It's really beautiful.
I am very biased, but it's my favorite national park.
And get gitgigami the sweet sea Lake Superior is a really enchanting bottle body of water.
And so to me, the rendezvous here is also very much about relationships and about healing.
It's about welcoming people into that history, but also welcoming people into the present at Grand Portage.
