An Illinois law legalizing adult cannabis use was passed more than two years ago.
It’s been more than two years since a law legalizing adult cannabis use in Illinois was passed. Part of this law created a pathway to clearing a person’s cannabis record -- this is known as expungement. But according to The Sentencing Policy Advisory Council, thousands of residents in Illinois are eligible to expunge their past cannabis records.
