I'll never forget that day.
You know the IED went off and I was in front of the IED and when the dust cleared and everything, I was trying to get accountability of who was there and who wasn't.
I remember some of the dust clearing and I see Rios climbing out of the crater of the IED attack and I'm like, holy **** Rios.
I'm like, are you okay?
You okay?
He's like, I'm fine Sergeant.
I'm fine Sergeant.
But I knew he wasn't.
He was out of it.
It was just that adrenaline that was pumping through him that kept him.
Thank God he didn't die, you know.
It's just a blessing to have him here and see him still alive and he is an angel for real.
[laughter] and I love all my Marines for my squad, and my squad.
You know and my squad got so **** up that they ended up disbanding my squad because I lost too many Marines.
Cause we were always getting hit.
