Today we are joined by Paula Lamas, an advisory board member with Salvation Army.
Paula, thanks for being here.
Thank you for the invitation.
So, Paula, what does an advisory board member do with Salvation Army?
With the Salvation Army, in this case, we provide advice or tips on how they can improve their operations, plan all operations for campaigns.
In this case we provide, also, these messages that we think people need to know in our community and also, you know, spread the word of what the Salvation Army is doing in our community because many of us, until I get there, honestly, I didn't know what the Salvation Army used to do for our community.
I was like, probably, okay, provide food and that's it.
Help the people that are starving and in need.
But it's beyond that.
They have so many different programs and its one of these organization that is so transparent that I have been helping so many.
And honestly, I will not leave this organization, until now at least, because every single penny that comes in, you know where it goes.
They have been here for so long, and they have plans to grow up more with our community.
That is the beauty of this organization.
Paula, theyre lucky to have you spreading the word about them as well.
Now oftentimes we think about them, you know, we hear them around the holidays with the bell ringing.
I know you brought a prop today... Oh yes.
Definitely.
I have here a probably sounds like it's not going to like me but it's... We love it!
We love it!
When you see a people outside of a store with this please stop by.
And any penny, any single dollar you have, please help us provide it because we have programs for summer camps, after school...
But the most important thing this season, every single dollar that we collect is going to support our operations from 2025 until next Christmas.
And, this is one of the most important things.
And not just, for groceries or we have a pantry with people can go and with dignity choose or pick whatever they want or need.
And also, we are providing winter coats and we have this beautiful campaign that also people recognize us, that is toy drive.
And we provide a smile this Christmas to every single kid in our community in need.
You are going to see many, many people wearing the vest and hood that says Salvation Army or the hats or this little bell.
This is for you and for NWPB.
So please ring it.
And we are so lucky also to have your support in order to spread this message for the Tri-Cities.
Thank you very much for ringing the bell with us.
