The Kentucky Community College and Technical the Kentucky Community and Technical College Systems Board of Regents has picked corals to be the new KCTCS president.
Corals is wrapping up his second term as Kentucky commissioner of Agriculture.
He ran for governor this year and finished second in the May Republican primary.
Corals will be the fourth president of KCTCS.
In a statement, Board of Regents Chair Barry Martins said, quote, Dr. Corales has proven statewide leadership.
His relationships across Kentucky and in Washington, D.C., as well as his outstanding educational background in higher education Administration, make him the clear choice to move our system forward, end quote.
Girls is expected to begin his presidency of the state's community and technical college system by the first of next year.
