We lather up with creams and conditioners, but are we treating our best selves from the inside out?
I'm Christine Zak-Edmonds.
There's a new place in town aimed at doing just that.
Stay right here.
(upbeat music) It pretty much looks like it's all out of a Sci-Fi movie.
It's called Advanced Energy, and it has something for everyone from head to toe.
Julie Drake is here to let us in on all this state-of-the-art technology.
Thanks for being here.
- I am so glad to be here talking about this.
It's one of my favorite subjects right now.
- Well, we're working on our innards.
First of all, tell me what your background is and then how this evolved.
- You bet.
So about seven years ago, Pat and I both started a journey of looking into alternative health, just because we had various issues going on and we wanted to find more healthy ways of helping our bodies heal themselves.
I went at it from an emotional standpoint, healing those emotional parts of my body, getting rid of all the gunk, so my body could be peaceful inside and thus happier and healthier outside.
And Pat went down the road of supplementation.
How can supplements help the body heal itself?
I became a certified Emotion Code and Body Code Practitioner in the energy healing space.
And she delved into looking at some of these large energy healing equipment.
And we realized that our passions intersected, because the frequency scanner I was using to read the emotional balance in the body was also the same manufacturer that manufactured the equipment we have in Advanced Energy today.
And so we took a journey to Utah to visit the first Wellness Center that they set up out there, talked to the people running it, talked to the clients that use it, and we just knew that Illinois had to have something like this.
So that's how Advanced Energy was born.
- And at this point, it's no place else in the state of Illinois, or is it?
- We do not know any other place that has this type of equipment, that we have here.
The closest, we know that there's a private company that has it for a high-end sports complex that has it for their athletes in Ohio.
There's one in Michigan, there's a hyperbaric down in Nashville, but other than that, we haven't found anything in Illinois.
- Interesting.
All right, well let's start with what your equipment does.
Let's start out with the Thetachamber which, it looks kinda weird.
It it does look Sci-Fi.
It's a pod.
- It does, yes, it is a pod.
And some people might look at it and immediately be like, "Oh, it's gonna close over me and I have claustrophobia.
"I can't use it."
- [Christine] I'm one of those I'm one of those.
- I am too.
I loved my experience in the Theta, even the first time I used it.
What happens in the Theta is you put on headphones and you're listening to balancing inner voice tones.
You put goggles on that are just lights.
It's again, stimulating the brain, reprocessing.
The Thetachamber reprocesses those theta waves in your brain.
So you're hearing things, you're just in a state of peace.
Oftentimes people fall asleep in the Thetachamber and it's just a 30-minute experience.
And there are different settings on the Thetachamber depending on what somebody really wants to work on.
So it might be addiction recovery, it might be PTSD or hormone balancing, chronic pain or fibromyalgia, memory or focus, anxiety and depression.
So those are some of the things that the Theta works on and it's fascinating - [Christine] When I toured there, it was turning around also.
- Yes, it does spin.
- [Christine] All right.
- It does spin and that is part of the experience.
The body actually does not know it's spinning.
When you were in the Theta you don't feel the spin.
But you see it when you're outside the Theta.
- I saw it and I thought, I don't know.
I'd be in a pod and spinning around.
- Yes.
Yep.
So speaking from somebody who is one of those claustrophobic, can't get in a closed MRI experience, I had no problem doing it.
But everybody has different sensations - Levels of acceptance.
- Absolutely.
Yep.
- All right and then, so you're waiting on equipment.
We have a supply chain going on in the world today.
- [Julie] Yes.
- A hyperbaric room, so you have a chamber.
- Yes, we will have, it's a room, it's a walk-in room.
It'll have two recliners in there.
And people can bring their phones, their laptops, they can have their own experience in there while they're in the hyperbaric room.
And hyperbaric is really based on healing the body in a natural way.
Some of the people that we talked to out in Utah, one that I think of was recovering from knee surgery.
He had had two knee surgeries.
One that he rehabbed the traditional route, the other, he added the hyperbaric room in with the traditional physical therapy and cut his healing time by a third.
So it's amazing what the body can do when it's stimulated in all these different sensations.
- Because it can heal itself.
- [Julie] It can.
- Given the right circumstances or encouragement.
- Correct, right, and none of this is going to replace your doctor or replace medicines in general, in traditional medicine.
But it is going to enhance it.
It's going to give the body a leg up.
And I think all of us can say we've been to the doctor where we feel pain or we feel something and they can't quite figure out, after running all the tests and the x-rays and the images, what really is going on.
And sometimes that leads to a frequency imbalance, an emotional imbalance that our equipment and our practices can help spur the body along.
And again, it does heal itself.
It's amazing, these bodies of ours.
- Well, let's skip over, They have a very nice brochure here.
So this AO Scan, a digital body analyzer.
Well, kind of that's what that does.
It's kind of funky.
It can scan your entire body and tell you what you need and what you need to feed into it, what you need to get rid of.
- Exactly and all of it starts with a voice print.
So because we are scanning, with this AO Scan, over 8,000 frequencies in the body at that moment.
- [Christine] What does AO Scan stand for?
- AO Scan is just really an automatic, I actually don't know what AO Scan.
(Christine laughing) It's based on SEFI which is Subtle Energy Frequency Imprinter, is part of the AO Scan.
And what it does is, they have identified so many things in the body.
They have identified common bacteria, common viruses, common things, illnesses and ailments that affect people and what that looks like frequency wise.
So that they can read- - So like parasites and things have that too, alright.
- Absolutely.
Yes.
So that they can read the body and see what is present.
It can also tell you how long it has been present.
So has it been affecting the body one years, two years, three years, four years or more?
And you know, remembering that something that if we were, I was a child of the seventies, so lead was in paint in the seventies.
And we could have been in a home with lead-based paint, not even knowing it.
But yet all of this affected that young body and is carried over into adulthood.
But yet it may not show up in a blood work, but it is energetically changing something in the body and affecting it some way.
And the AO Scan also does an optimization so it can optimize the frequencies, because the body really works best in homeostasis, a state of peace inside the body.
And if you've ever heard of gut health.
- Right and we hear about it all the time now.
- All the time.
And we can identify through this what is working in the digestive tract, what isn't, where those frequencies are off and like you said, it will send those general reminders, chew your food or hydrate more or reduce your stress.
So we can give recommendations, lifestyle recommendations to somebody, and we can help them choose which equipment to use and also which lifestyle changes can make the most impact in a quick fashion.
- All right.
You have this RTMS.
- Yes.
- I don't know what that stands for either, but it sounds good.
- So the RTMS is, it looks kind of like an eight-legged thing sitting on your head.
- Kind of a helmet, not even a helmet but with probes.
- It has eight sensors.
Right.
It has eight sensors.
And depending on the program used, again, memory, brain fatigue, I'm just trying to think of some other ones, depression, Parkinson's, traumatic brain, those are the types of things that the RTMS, so ideally we want somebody when they come from the Thetachamber to go here and kind of solidify what's happened.
- [Christine] And synchronize things.
- Correct.
Yes.
And we often pair people with the RTMS, the hydrogen and the foot detox at the same time.
It's a great experience.
You sit in a recliner, you put on the probes, you put on the hydrogen, and you stick your foot in the detox.
You read, you do whatever you want on your phone.
It doesn't matter.
You just sit there and chill for 30 minutes.
So it's great.
- And you're a happy camper afterwards.
- You are.
Absolutely.
- Can you walk out of there?
I mean, are you lightheaded or?
- No, you are not.
I have not been lightheaded walking out of there.
Now I will say that detoxing the body can have a different effect on different people.
If somebody is never detoxed before, Christine, it might be a little jarring to the body.
And I also like to advise people that if they get a headache or if they are feeling a little off balance, it's likely the detox, because it does take the body a little bit.
If you've had all this junk inside and it starts to get rid of it, there is a a time of flux in the body.
So we like people to really communicate those things with us, because if that's happening then in a couple days we probably want them back and we might do a shorter session.
Or if people are prone to that type of thing, when they have detoxed in the past, it's just a client relationship.
We really want people to be in communication with us, so that we can do the best for them.
- And they should work with their doctors and you'll work with doctors, nurse practitioners, - [Julie] Absolutely.
- as well, to make sure that whatever prescription medicines they're taking are compatible with some of this equipment.
- We really have not found, somebody that is prone to seizures, we definitely wanna know, because then we'll do things a little bit differently.
Like the lights in the Theta, we won't use some of the lights or we'll turn them way down.
So yes, communicating with us is very important.
And we do a whole intake.
So we gather that information.
Prescriptions don't really have a lot of contradictions here.
We're working really in the frequency realm, so we haven't found that to be the case.
But absolutely, if they're questioning something and they want us to talk to somebody on their behalf or educate them a little bit, you bet.
- Well most people don't know that there is a frequency realm.
- Yes.
That is very true.
I didn't know it either.
- So this is a whole education.
- It is.
It really is.
But what I've learned about the body, is the body is really energy and its frequencies and just like we can look at a light and how a light functions, I think about Thomas Edison and all that he did.
We're kind of in that stage in life.
We went through all of these different industrial revolution and the tech age with the internet.
And now we're getting into an exciting world of healing, because all of these things are coming out and they're finding more and more studies between emotional stability and recovery from surgeries or grief in regards to different things and how it affects the body, the lungs, the whatever.
So you see more and more studies about that happening.
And I just think that there's a whole world about to be revealed and learned about.
And scientific discoveries happen all the time.
And it's just exciting to me.
- Very exciting.
All right, there's another thing here.
It's the LED Light Bed and that's a lot of red lights And again, claustrophobic, it closes on you and I, well, I guess it doesn't have to close on you.
- It does not have to close.
You get the maximum benefit if it closes.
But if you are somebody that is super claustrophobic, then we just say, "Lay on the bed, "keep it open, "and then just flip your body halfway through," so you get the benefit on both sides.
The closer the body is to the LED light, the better the healing of whatever frequency.
- [Christine] So, skin on light.
- [Julie] Skin on light, yeah.
Skin on glass actually.
Yeah.
- What are the benefits of the LED bed then?
- It depends on the frequency that somebody's choosing.
So if they wanna work on pain, there is a pain frequency.
If they're wanting to work on antiaging, just that mitochondria in the body and we're learning about cell generation and just stimulating the cells to grow properly.
That is a setting on there.
The skin, depression or high emotions.
So there's so many different things.
Inflammation in the body is also huge.
And a lot of what we've talked about already, helps reduce the inflammation in the body, because it affects so many things.
Not just from a pain, but the gut health and everything else.
Yeah.
So the LED is great for things like that too.
And those women that wanna get rid of those fine lines and wrinkles, the LED is great for that.
- It's good for that?
- Yeah.
- I'll get there.
You'll also have, it's not up and running yet, but speaking of that, Skin Therapy Room.
- Yes, we will have the Skin Therapy Room.
Again, supply chain issues, we love them.
But really doing great.
We have an esthetician on staff, that's going to be able to work with, mostly women.
I'm not gonna say men are not allowed, but a lot of women are interested in this room where they can come and get beautified and naturally, again, stimulate the body to produce the collagen to tighten the skin.
- [Christine] From the inside out.
- From the inside out.
Yep.
- The Pressotherapy.
Now our director Paul said, the pictures, it looks like a straight jacket.
But what really is it doing?
- I feel like the Michelin man, you're like all these puffy chambers, but it's really just moving the juices of the body.
So lymphatic, circulatory, just getting everything flowing right.
A lot of times energetically and just facilitating the systems in the body that have liquid.
You think of the veins and the circulatory system, the lymph nodes and all of that.
They can get plugged, they can get stuck.
They can get to where they're sludging along and that creates certain physical markers in the body and this just gently moves things along and it feels a lot like a massage.
So I put in headphones, I put my phone on the counter and I just sit there and I often fall asleep.
- [Christine] Kinda veg.
- [Julie] Yes, exactly.
So that's what the Pressotherapy does.
- Interesting.
All right and then we talked about the Inner hydrogen.
You also mentioned a little bit about the foot detox.
Now that is, you put your feet in and there's some water in there and, or is there?
- There's no water.
So it's just a plate.
And you asked about things that we need to watch out for, people who have metal implants in their body should not use the foot detox 'cause it heats up the body, from the inside out, by one degree.
It does not feel like you're heating.
- Like A night sweat or a hot flash.
- Exactly, right.
You know, you don't leave drenched and sweat.
However, it is heating the body and you can feel it on your feet and your legs.
Just a little warming sensation.
And really the goal here is, again, detoxing.
And viruses, things like that, cannot function in a hot body.
We wonder why we have fevers.
That's our body's self-defense to get rid of it.
- [Christine] You can get out of it, right?
- So if people are dealing with things like that, if you heat up the body, that virus has no place to live.
It really does not have a place to live.
- So that's what you do with the foot detox.
- That's the foot detox.
And oftentimes we pair the hydrogen with it.
And hydrogen, we are learning so much about what hydrogen can do in the body, the benefits that it can have.
But really it is a full detox.
So you work these two things together where you just put the cannula in your nose and it's really unassuming, but you're getting the hydrogen inside.
We often pair that with hydrogen water.
While somebody's there, we'll give them a hydrogen water to drink.
- And what's the difference between hydrogen water and alkaline water and tap water?
- Yeah, hydrogen is just really one of those gases where it really detoxes the body, puts the body, again, in that homeostasis mode.
And they've been doing studies for many, many years, but they're just coming to light.
I think it's something that is really, as we're looking at alternative medicines and other ways to heal the body, hydrogen is actually an elevated way of healing, even more so than oxygen.
They're finding more and more benefits of hydrogen in killing things in the body naturally.
- And free radicals?
So this detoxing can also get rid of the free radicals.
Then we go outside and we take a breath of fresh air, which isn't so fresh.
- Right.
So think of it as a super antioxidant, but you're not drinking it.
You're inhaling it.
- Okay.
All right.
What else do we need to know about what's going on here?
I mean, you are treating people head to toe.
- Yes, we are and inside and out.
I loved how you said that, because it really does start with the inside and then it manifests outside.
So oftentimes we are not just treating the outside symptom.
We are really wanting to get to the root of the issue.
And that's what the AO Scan helps us do.
Those reports from the AO Scan, helps us know exactly what root we're working with.
And that also helps people.
So sometimes chiropractic will come up in somebody's report over and over again and they will say, "Well, I see a chiropractor already," understood, but a chiropractor is looking at it from the outside.
- [Christine] And structural.
- Correct.
And they feel a lot with their hands.
It's amazing to me what they can feel.
But if something is coming up as chiropractic care recommended, then that is a great way to take that information and go to the chiropractor and say, "Hey, you know, this is coming up for me.
"Can you check this area?
"Because my body's "saying something."
- And would it also point out specific areas?
- Specific areas, Yeah.
So it really is something that is, I don't know any other place like this around in the Midwest.
So I just really want people to know that if you have chronic pain, autoimmune, brain fog, hormone issues.
- I got 'em all.
How am I doing?
- Come see us, Christine.
We've got solutions.
And just like anything, it's really what is your body going to most resonate with, with what we have?
- And no two people are even close to being alike.
- [Julie] Absolutely.
Absolutely.
- Yeah, it depends on emotions and how you deal with stress as well.
And how?
I mean, is there a way that you do all of 'em in the same day?
- We do, yes.
- Is that right?
- So people who are on a program, oftentimes will do the Thetachamber, then they'll go over and use the RTMS, the hydrogen and the foot detox.
And then they might go to lunch and come back and use the Presso and then use the LED bed and then the Theta again.
So the Theta can be book ended in a day.
It can be used twice in a day.
(Christine chuckling) I know, it's pretty incredible.
One of the women that I saw out in Utah was on a 21 day program.
She was in a very depressed state, very despondent.
And her mom was very concerned about her and found their Wellness Center out in Utah.
And she was on day 10, I believe and she looked fine to me and I said, "What are you doing here?"
I was talking to her and she said, "Seven days ago I would not have "even been able to speak to you.
"I was that despondent and that low functioning."
And so for her, she was doing a similar protocol that what I just shared with you.
Theta in the morning, Theta in the afternoon and then- - [Christine] and everything in between.
- Everything else in between.
Yep.
- What have you seen here so far with some of the people who've come, because you just kinda opened your doors, by the time this airs, it will be a couple of months, but what kind of progress have you been able to witness?
- Yeah.
That's a great question.
We have one gentleman that's coming in with traumatic brain injury and we have heard tremendous feedback from the family member who is caring for him in that oftentimes traumatic brain comes with anger, combative issues.
They just don't realize what sets them off.
And we've already heard that those episodes are fewer and further between, that there's a compassion from him that she has not seen in any,- - [Christine] that was missing.
- They're speaking to each other, sharing stories, communicating in ways that they haven't in a very long time.
So that is super exciting.
We had somebody come in for PTSD and slept, for the first time, a whole night in he couldn't remember when.
So those types of things we've already heard in the few short weeks we've been open.
- So some of these things will also help with sleeplessness?
- Oh, absolutely.
Yeah.
Insomnia, just emotional unrest for sleep.
Yes.
Yeah.
- What do you send them home with?
Once they come, once you have some, do you call 'em clients?
Do you call them patients?
- We call them clients.
- Okay.
Once they come in, what do you send them home with?
Recommendations for how to clean up their act or how to keep that act cleaned and detoxified?
- It depends what they're coming to us for.
When we do the AO Scan we do send them home with a report that shows what their scan showed them from an emotional standpoint, especially.
Some of those lifestyle changes.
So they will get that.
If they don't choose the AO Scan, we might talk to them and share some other holistic ways that we know.
We will have some supplementation in the Wellness Center.
We will have some essential oils in the Wellness Center that are great for emotional support.
So we will be making those kinds of recommendations as well.
- Where do you see this in the next couple of years?
- Hm, we wanna serve the Midwest, really.
When we were talking to the Quantum Wellness Center in Utah, one of the things I loved is they had a Theta house.
So if somebody was far enough away that they couldn't come and do just a day, they would have them stay at this Theta house.
I think of it as a Ronald McDonald House.
But somewhere they can come and stay and get the healing that their body needs to be self sustaining.
So we really see this as a beacon in the Midwest, to come and heal from the inside out.
- How many days do you need to heal?
Again, it depends on the person and the condition.
- Yeah.
It really does depend.
If somebody is working on chronic pain or traumatic brain injury, something that has been around a long time and is very severe, I would recommend that 21 day healing.
Because if you think of it as a tuneup for a car, really kick starts the body into gear.
But knowing that not everybody can do that, we recommend a couple times a week at a minimum to start and just get the body into a receptive mode for healing.
Because the more they do it, the better it will go.
- Exactly.
What about insurance?
Does insurance cover any of this?
Not right now, anyway.
- Not right now.
Yeah.
And if somebody wants to take what we've talked to them about and present it to their insurance company, they definitely can do that.
We do not accept insurance right now.
I don't think we will.
But I know I have used things in the past, Christine, and I've taken that to the my insurance company and sometimes I'm super surprised that they cover it.
So you just never know.
And again, the more science is discovering, the more things are uncovered about how these things can and will heal the body, you never know.
- Right.
Then just turn another page.
- All right.
Well thank you very much.
Oh, really quickly.
What would be for a first timer who doesn't know anything about any of this, what would your recommendation be for the very first thing they should do?
If it was only one thing to choose from your menu.
- If it was only one thing, I would say the AO Scan, because that is going to give us a snapshot of where the health in the body is starting, and then we can build from there.
- Perfect.
Well thank you so much.
- Thank you.
- And good luck to you.
- Thanks.
- And maybe I'll try to get over the claustrophobia.
- I would recommend it.
- Okay.
(chuckling) - You can do it.
Believe me if I can do it, you can do it.
- All right.
Well, thank you very much for joining us.
And this is new and exciting in Central Illinois and hope you learned a lot.
And it's called Advanced Energy and it's on War Memorial Drive.
So you have a good evening.
Stay safe and healthy and definitely healthy, and hold happiness.
